This bow is beautiful! The riser is charcoal colored with multi-layered diamondwood. Quiet with no hand shock. The limbs have a Bamboo core with black glass overlay. There is dark hardwood in the limb wedge. The limb tips are reinforced for any modern string. The small tips reduce hand-shock and give speed. The 15" riser with long sweeping limbs makes for a sweet shooting bow and it weighs under 2 pounds!! It has a nice feeling, comfortable grip. This bow comes with a Dyneema string (fast flight material). Used for its, durability, strength and speed. This great price includes the bow set up with a nocking point, silencers, and the shelf and side material installed. We recommend using one of our large end bow stringer to string up this bow, (purchased separately for $13.00.) NOW INCLUDED!! One year warranty on riser/limbs. Additional longbow limbs are now available These limbs are able to interchange with the riser for a recurve OR a longbow. All that for the low price of $199.95!!
The bow is 60" with no stacking at least to 30" draw. This would make a great little hunting bow. Easy to maneuver in a tree stand or on the ground!!
NEW AT TWIG ARCHERY: Additional Longbow limbs for the Black Hunter can be purchased with a BAMBOO CORE ($99.99)
The Black Hunter Longbow, purchased at Twig Archery, took 3rd place at the 2016 Ohio State Traditional Championships in the Longbow class on the second day he owned it. (See Tony's review) Remember; the Black Hunter was competing against mostly expensive custom Longbows!!

I have shot recurves for over 30 years and I am so pleased with the Black Hunter longbow. I wish I had come across this bow long ago. Smooth draw, good speed, very quiet, shoots where you look. John and Gayle are just great to help you out, couldn't ask for more.

For the price you cant beat it. I have the 40lb limbs and it flings arrows almost 600gns in weight with speed and power.

This is quite a little bow, nice look and shoots really well. Shooting 3D targets for shoots, this is light and very accurate. I would buy again, great price!

Top end bow at a low end price. Straight out of the box I'm shooting 2" groups at 20 yards.
This bow shoots as good if not better than the widows , palmers and foxes I've owned before.

This bow shoots nice- I changed the string and put string silencers, so far I left my recurve bow and this is the only bow I shoot. I let couple friends shoot it and they agree this is a great long bow for the price. I recommend this bow

This is a sweet bow, better than the price would lead you to believe. I draw 30.5" and I don't notice any stacking. The string came with rubber whisker silencers installed, a nice touch. However, I strung mine up and the brace height is 8 1/4" without twisting, too short to get it into the recommended brace height.
Note from Twig Archery:
Generally speaking a new string will stretch after shooting it a bit. After it stretches it should fall in the correct brace height. It is the correct string.

Had bow for week or so. Have not put fast flight string on yet. The bow shoots and points great. This is my first longbow and this bow is super quiet and quick ! For the price you can't go wrong! Will try to break it in on an old Tom here in couple of months .

This is a bow that provides excellent performance. It shoots fast and quiet and even more so since I installed a fast flight string. There is no hand shock and shoots very tight groups. So far I have Robin Hooded three arrows. Can't wait till other limbs are available. I ordered the 50 lbs bow but this bow is so smooth and forgiving I would like to increase the bow weight or even try the recurve limbs.

For a low end bow at a high end performance. 60 inch bow at 55lbs it shoots up with the high end bows that I have shot yet. Smooth and quiet with no hand shock. Also has great speed.
Great customer service, John and Gayle were very helpful and made us feel right at home.
Will go to twig archery for all our archery needs.
