This bow is beautiful! The riser is charcoal colored with multi-layered diamondwood. Quiet with no hand shock. The limbs have a Bamboo core with black glass overlay. There is dark hardwood in the limb wedge. The limb tips are reinforced for any modern string. The small tips reduce hand-shock and give speed. The 15" riser with long sweeping limbs makes for a sweet shooting bow and it weighs under 2 pounds!! It has a nice feeling, comfortable grip. This bow comes with a Dyneema string (fast flight material). Used for its, durability, strength and speed. This great price includes the bow set up with a nocking point, silencers, and the shelf and side material installed. We recommend using one of our large end bow stringer to string up this bow, (purchased separately for $13.00.) NOW INCLUDED!! One year warranty on riser/limbs. Additional longbow limbs are now available These limbs are able to interchange with the riser for a recurve OR a longbow. All that for the low price of $199.95!!
The bow is 60" with no stacking at least to 30" draw. This would make a great little hunting bow. Easy to maneuver in a tree stand or on the ground!!
NEW AT TWIG ARCHERY: Additional Longbow limbs for the Black Hunter can be purchased with a BAMBOO CORE ($99.99)
The Black Hunter Longbow, purchased at Twig Archery, took 3rd place at the 2016 Ohio State Traditional Championships in the Longbow class on the second day he owned it. (See Tony's review) Remember; the Black Hunter was competing against mostly expensive custom Longbows!!

This 55 lb blackhunter has no stacking at my 28 1/4 inch draw. The riser is cut past center also fit and finish is flawless. At the shot there is a small thunk and no hand shock! !! Draw cycle is so smooth and it feels like I'm shooting 40 to 45 pounds out of those 55 lb limbs. Accurate bow can stack arrows at 25 yards, have not shot past that yet.

I shot traditional bow for years. got out of it for many years. I returned to twig archery just looking after catching up on times, I was looking at getting back to the one way. Twig asked if I would like to try the Black Hunter, & after a short shooting session I was impressed with the Black Hunter- no stacking, smooth, and very fast & easy to handle, flat shooting- it had to go home with me and so it did!! Since my purchase of the Black Hunter it has bagged two rabbits!! Absolutely a great bow and great people at twig archery!!

I have a Samick Sage, Journey, Red Stag longbow and now the Black Hunter. This is my favorite. It is about as light as the longbow, draws as smoothly despite being 8 inches shorter, but doesn't have any hand slap. I like the grip and think shape of the riser is more attractive than the Sage/Journey.
The bow doesn't have any bushings for mounting sights, quivers, etc. I know there are ways around that, but that's something to remember.
Overall, I like it very much. I haven't unstrung it or shot anything else since I got it 5 days ago.

This bow will out perform alot of the expensive custom bows on the market.its smooth as butter, fast and extremely quiet. and did i mention zero hand shock. I took 3rd place in state competition with it after shooting it for two days.I have been a customer of Twig Archery for 25+ years their customer service is second to none. I would recommend this bow to anyone looking for a great bow without breaking the bank.
