  1. Nice Bow! 4 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Dec 2012

I recently got back into archery after about a 45 year layout. I'd restrung my father's old 55lb. Indian Archery recurve and, unfortunately, it almost did my old shoulder in! All those old injuries started complaining.

Enter the Samick Sage 40lb. bow. MUCH easier on my shoulder! I can shoot for a couple hours now without being in pain the next day.

Besides being a lighter bow, the Sage is very nice shooting and a real bargain. Thanks!

  2. Samick Sage super bow 5 Star Review

This bow is great, very fun to shoot. Quality is great. Twig Archery shipped very fast, set up very well. Just as described.

  3. Smooth shooting recurve 4 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Nov 2012

I am very satisfied with the Samick Sage takedown recurve. I have had it for two weeks and so far have harvested a turkey and a doe. Missed a nice 8pt, but that wasn't the bow's fault. It is a solid bow. Fun to shoot and for a beginner like me who is just testing the traditional hunting...it is a bargain!!!

  4. A newbie archer 4 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Oct 2012

Knowing nothing of bows/arrows. This is certainly a nice looking bow. I practice a lot & it performs as it's supposed to. Getting to know the bow, I find it consistently accurate, once I zoned in on where I want the arrow to land. This bow has been a great bow to begin with. How far it will take me until I need to upgrade is beyond me at this point. So far it's been both fun and challenging! I'm very pleased with the bow, price and Twig Archery for a stellar transaction.

  5. Great bow for the money. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Oct 2012

For the price, dont think will ever find a better bow. Just read all the reviews, they are that good for a reason. If you are new to traditional archery, it helps alot to have someone help with the set up, but the bow is a great shooter.

  6. Twig Archery is an outstanding pro shop; Sage is great bow 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Oct 2012

I recently switched to left-handed after shooting a few years, so I purchased a fully setup 35# Samick Sage after shooting a friend's (I had an expensive longbow before) . The Sage shoots as well, or better! After one month, I am consistently shooting a 9" target up to 30m.

John and Gayle are both great to work with and very knowledgable. They took the time to also set me up with properly spined arrows, which I later find were an exact match for my bow on Stu MIller's calculator. John really knows his stuff!

I'd recommend Twig Archery to any new or experienced archer - can't say enough about the great service and advice. Thanks again!

(Twig has a wider selection of merchandise than listed on their website, so call in if you need something you don't find online.)

  7. Great Bow for the price 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Oct 2012

I shot a 43lb Bob Lee take down recurve for years and the 50lb Sammick Sage is comparable in accuaracy and arrow speed. Great Buy for much less money. I plan on ordering lighter limbs (30-35lbs) to use the same bow for bowfishing next spring.

  8. Samick Sage Rocks 4 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Oct 2012

I am just a beginner to archery but was impressed by the build quality of the Samick Sage. As a take down recurve bow it is very convenient if you need to travel to shoot or taking classes etc.

I was also very pleased how quickly twig archery delivered my new bow and the great customer service they provided. They were very patient with my lack of understanding and helped answer my questions. I will recommend them to my friends that are into archery.

  9. Great Basic Bow 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Oct 2012

The Samick Sage is great for beginners. I found it to be perfect for what I needed and was cost effective compared to other bows. Twig set my bow up and was ready to shoot. Great service

  10. Great Starter Bow 4 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Oct 2012

I've been using it for my archery class and for field shooting in the woods up at a Bowman Range, It shoots nice and I'm able to fire it fast and accurate. The riser is beautiful.

Downsides are the usuals with wood, differences in temperature seem to affect the power of the bow and you'll have to adjust your sight to it. Also the sight window is rather small for use with conventional sights, but I've worked around that by using a strip of masking tape on the riser with 1/8" marks down the whole length. I will eventually turn this into a more attractive and perminant solution, possibly with acrylic paint.
