Bought a #45 Sage for my 15 yr old son. It is his first bow and he actually chose traditional over a compound bow. I can't imagine a better starter bow at any price. In fact, I actually like his bow better than mine. It is quiet, fast, hard hitting with light carbon arrows. It arrived set up and ready to shoot right out of the box, all we had to do was string it. Shipping was fast and my son loves his new bow. Thanks Twig Archery for a fantastic buying experience

I'm a brazilian customer and a newer in archery. I decided to buy my first recurve bow to pratice indoor and maybe bowfishing. In the foruns, I saw very good reviews talking about Sage then found the Twig website send an email to John that helped me a lot answering my questions and decided to order one 40# Sage package and 12 Chundoo arrows. My package arrived here in my house 09 days after post! I'm surprised with bow and arrows. The bow is very ligth comparing with my PSE Stinger and shoots smooth. I only need the Sage and arrows to shoot and spending hours. I did my best 10 meters group with 3 arrows after 2 days.
I give 4 star because my riser has some litle marks I read in some reviews it could happening in this model.
I´m very happy with Sage. It is a very nice bow and great buy for the bucks!
Thanks, John!!!
Best Regards from Brazil,
Vergilio

During my seven years of Traditional bowhunting and 3-D shoots, I have owned dozens of custom recurve and long bows and shot dozens more. I believe I have a good idea what characteristics make up a quality shooting wood traditional bow. Recently I had a custom made longbow break in half and another brand new custom develop problems with the limbs. I also desired a low cost bow about 10 pounds lighter draw weight to use as a 'form' bow. After researching bows, prices and on line retailers and a phone call to John at Twig Archery. I ordered a Sage.
The Sage came ready to shoot and would be perfect for a new shooter right out of the bow. I am a little picky about my bows noise level and 'shootabilty' so I did some small modifications to the bow right away. I padded the limb pockets with thin foam and made a 58", 14 strand, TS-1 + string, made 2 yarn ball puff silencers placed about 14 inches from the end of the string, set my brace height at 7.75 inches and ran to my target bags.
Well the bow shoots great. The grip fits my hand like a glove. Despite a fairly light weight riser, the bow has no handshock. It has a very smooth draw out to my 28.5 inches. It is quieter than many of my custom recurves. The arrow speed and cast are excellant. What more can I want from a bow ? I am very impressed with this bow. My shooting buddies are afraid that this bow had turned me into an 'anti-custom' bow shooter and I think they are correct. I have plans to take this 45# Sage for a serious 3-D try out soon and probaly hunt with it this fall. My next purchase from Twig will likely include some more Sage limbs in different draw weights and some custom Twig arrows. Thank you John (Twig Archery) for turning me onto 'non-custom' bows.

After reading all the great reviews on this bow I decided to try one myself. I have to say this bow is worth every penny and then some. It came from Twig Archery with a quiver, silencers, shelf material and nock set all ready to shoot. I shot a few different arrow spines and settled on 2117 fo my 55 lb bow and it shoots great. It is smooth, fairly quiet and plenty fast. You would have to spend a whole lot more to get anything much better shooting. ( I have owned Bob Lee, Black Widow and Bear). All in all it is a great bow for the money. Twigg's service is great too.

Just got it in the other day and couldn't get enough of it. This is a complete package, comes with everything you need to get started for the same price of the other places for just the bow. Took about 15 minutes or less to setup and I was off. John is also second to none when it comes to customer service and the shipping is QUICK! I live in texas, ordered it on monday and had it in my hands by wednesday afternoon. Don't hesitate, if you are second guessing it, DON'T! Just get it and you WILL NOT be disappointed!

I bought this for my son's twelve birthday in a 30# draw for his first bow. I did tons of research before landing on the Sage. Several retailers (online) offer this bow, all for the same price, but Twig is the only one to offer a COMPLETE, out of the box, ready to shoot, set-up. We shot it for the first time on Sunday and he was putting a four arrow grouping in a six inch radius right off the bat from 10 and 15 yards(did I mention this was his first time shooting a bow!) I love it so much that I will be getting one for myself this summer!

I bought the samik sage for my brother in law to help get him started back in traditional archery. It came as advertised ready to shoot with silencers, quiver and a nocking point that i didnt need to adjust. I also ordered a dozen of twig arrows that John helped me match to the bow. After shooting the bow I will say I was very well pleased with the performance. The bow performed as well as bows that cost much more. This is a great bow for any who want a good performing bow without plunking down a lot of cash. I would be just as comfortable hunting with this bow as i would my high end recurve. Besides, deer dont know how much you paid for your bow.
