  1. Great bow and service 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Dec 2016

I stopped by the shop and talked to John. He set me up with the Samick Journey #45. Just took it out to shoot and was very pleased on how it handled. I shot for about 2 hours. Very smooth no hand shock and quiet. Hope to put it on a chronograph to see the speeds and try better arrows than what I have. I want to see if I can tighten up my groups. Overall I am very pleased with everything and John has won himself an happy customer.

Twig Archery has the best deal on this or any other Samick bow. John sets up the bow for you with a nocking point, string silencers, and sets the brace height perfectly. When you receive the bow it is ready to shoot immediately! It is such a nice easy shooting bow, my group loves it and asks where I got it. The package deals can't be beat anywhere. You get a great target quiver and a perfectly set up bow. Buy from Twig Archery! You won't get better service and you will be a satisfied customer!

  5. Samick Journey 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Mar 2015

Twig Archery was very helpful to this beginner in buying this bow and accessories. I have been completely satisfied so far with my 35 lb target bow. It shoots very smoothly, quietly, and the draw weight allows me to shoot for an extended time. If I had to do it over again, I would buy the same bow, arrows, and accessories from Twig Archery.

  6. Smooth and quiet 4 Star Review

Twig configured the Journey accurately with nock point and silencers. Arrows fly straight as a string. Bow is quiet as a mouse.

  7. Great bow for new archers, even better service 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Feb 2015

I'm new to archery. I had never shot a bow until about six weeks ago. I went to a local archery club, learned the basics, and then ordered the Journey, along with a dozen arrows, from Twig Archery.

Not much to say except that I'm very happy with the Samick Journey. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I can say that all of the positive reviews of Samick Sage and Journey are well-founded. When I ordered the bow (#30), I immediately upgraded to the Fast Flight string, so I can't comment on the default string.

The arrows are launched with explosive authority. At 10 yards (remember, I'm new at this), the arrows sink impale my hay-bale target back to about a depth of 12 to 15 inches (I have 30 inch arrows).

At John Christianer's suggestion, I ordered Easton XX75 arrows. The shaft has cool graphics, and John added neon green and blue feather fletches. He did this so that it's easy to see the arrows travel; indeed it is. Good call, John.

This must be how Twig Archery stays in business. I couldn't imagine ordering this set without talking to John first. I had a pretty good idea of the bow and poundage I wanted, and he confirmed my thoughts. The real surprise came in ordering the arrows. I thought that any arrow would work well. Not true! If I had purchased arrows off the shelf at a store, I'm sure I would have regretted it. John explained to me that, in the case of recurve archery, the spine (stiffness) of the arrow has to match the poundage and draw length of the bow. He gave me a nice explanation of the complexities of arrow flight just as it leaves the bow. Very interesting.

Finally, a word about Gayle Christianer. Through phone calls and emails, I've bothered her with questions more than I should have. Nonetheless, she has always responded promptly, courteously, and informatively. I'm confident she'll continue to do so.

One gets the sense that John and Gayle are genuinely interested in making sure their customers have the right system. Furthermore, based on follow-on contact, they know the meaning of long-term customer service.

  8. Positive Feedback for Twig and the Journey Bow 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Oct 2014

I want to give a very positive feedback to Twig Archery on multiple items. First, the service and customer support was "above and beyond"-absolutely fantastic. John spent a fair amount of time with me on the phone guiding me through a selection process which led to a Samick Journey bow. I got 30 lb limbs. Glad I did. It has been great fun improving my technique and skills. I brought this bow to my local 3d archery club, and everyone who shot it, loved it. "Draws smooth." Draws like butter." "Going to get one." These were typical comments from experienced archers. John set me up with some Easton Tribute 1816 shafts with 4" feather fletching. They shoot great. I shot them in a 3d match this summer and surprised a few shooters (and myself). These 30 lb limbs slings the arrows with zip. I really enjoy this bow. I can't recommend the Journey, or Twig Archery strong enough. Buy with confidence. I draw 29" and I don't get any stacking with the 64" Journey. Old fashioned service is found at Twig. They impressed me. PS. My wife shoots a Samick Polaris 62" with 24lb limbs (1416 Eaton Jazz shafts). The Polaris is a mighty fine bow too.

  9. Awesome bow for the money! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Jun 2014

I got this bow in 35 lbs for my father. He loves it! He tells me that this was finally something I've done right. The bow is smooth and forgiving and a joy to shoot. I picked up a Martin Panther for myself (also in 35 lb) and I find the Journey easier to shoot well quicker. Hmmm... I may have to pick one up for myself!

  10. Great value for money and works very well. Handles very long draws admirably. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Apr 2014

I wanted to get the Sage but I was concerned with draw length. I can pull a 30" arrow with field point almost off the back of the shelf, but the Journey, merely listing a draw weight at the standard 28", handled the draw with no problems. Build quality is just fine with no apparent flaws. Twig added silencers to the string and provided a no nonsense package of things needed with the bow for a new shooter like myself.
The Samick bows are so pervasive for a reason! Buy from Twig; they know their stuff and are very helpful.
